When I paint a picture, every time I set new tasks for myself.
I tried to write this picture a la prima ... almost. Since I love multi-layered painting, I could not resist further refinement, but these refinements were few.
The execution of paintings in a la prima way is very impressive. The three-dimensional image and depth appear on the canvas very quickly and there is a feeling of magic.
Many artists shoot this process on video. It turns out very interesting. But, I assure you, if you personally see this process, you will understand how much this is a magic spectacle.
When I was a student, I painted quick portraits on the street. Many people did not come to get a portrait, they wanted to see this amazing sight and created a crowd behind the artist’s back.
I must tell you that this is not an easy job - to draw a portrait when several people breathe in the back of your head and discuss your every stroke or movement of the brush.
Oil on canvas, 16 / 20 inches.
